Anne Panyrek (Nonny) Timpson, 99, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Florida.
Born in Baltimore, MD, Nonny was raised in North Plainfield, NJ. Shortly after her marriage to Walter Timpson in 1944 the young couple moved to Metuchen where they would raise their children. Nonny was exceptional cook and loved to entertain. She mentored many of the young people who would happily gravitate to her kitchen at their homes in Metuchen and Beach Haven. Nonny and her husband were both active in the congregation of St Luke’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Alter Guild. She also volunteered with the JFK Hospital Auxiliary.
Nonny had a love for antiques and was an avid collector. With their children off to school they became snowbirds, splitting their time between NJ and Florida. After her husband’s passing Nonny became a full time resident of Fort Lauderdale where she shared her home with her loving caregiver, Claudine, until her passing.
Together with her husband, she lived a blessed, joyful life. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook, a very kind lady and most memorably for her warn smile. She was loved dearly by her family and will be sorely missed.
She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Walter.
She is survived by her two children, Walter K. Jr & his wife Linda of Jupiter, FL & Patricia Timpson of Clifton, VA; 4 grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Mincey, Walter III, & Alison (Andrew Blum) & David Welliver.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave (Rt.27), Metuchen. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Metuchen. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to St Jude’s Hospital.
