Clark M Jones , 85 , died peacefully on February 8th 2018 at JFK Haven Hospice after a brief illness. Born in Metuchen on March 25 1932, son of Rufus & Mary Martin Jones. Clark spent his childhood on Durham Ave having to leave school in the 10th grade to care for his mother. Clark worked part-time building houses with his brother Bubby until he was drafted into the Army in 1952 and served for the duration of the Korean War. Clark then went to work alongside his family at the Raritan Arsenal, from there he worked at Beinfang Paper Co from 1960 to 1979. He went on to work as a forklift driver for both NJ Bell and Edison Casket before retiring. Clark was a proud member of the Clara Barton American Legion since 1956. He spent his free time helping with his children’s local Little League and Scouts . He also enjoyed working in his garden and on his home. He could be found on many weekends making pizza for the neighborhood children. Clark leaves behind his wife of 60 years Gloria Allegar , his son Clark, grandchildren Clark III and Kayla Jones all from Edison. His daughter Barabara, her husband William, grandchildren William Jr and Sarah Landry , great grandchildren Paige Edwards and Gianni Delango all from Shandaken NY. His sister Mary Berg and many nieces and nephews. Clark was predeceased by his siblings Rufus ( Bub ) and Edward Jones, Anna Risola Stephens and Effie Eosso. Clark will be remembered as the lighthouse he was for his family. Arrangements will be private and interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Metuchen (www.costello-runyon.com) .
