Michael Thomas Buoncristiano, 63, died Sunday after a long illness, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick surrounded by his family.
He was born in Jersey City and lived in New Jersey most of his life, most recently in Hoboken.
Michael was an Army Veteran during peacetime, stationed in Germany. He served in the Army Intelligence Special Languages Division as a Voice Interceptor. He was awarded a medal of Good Conduct and Expert in Marksmanship.
His career was spent in the Direct Marketing Field. A majority was spent at Wiland Services INC. in Boulder, CO, Virginia and New York as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He served on the Board of Directors for Wiland Services and Concepts Direct in Boulder, CO.
He was an active member and past president of the Direct Marketing Club of New York.
He worshiped at St. Peter and St. Paul Church, Hoboken.
He contributed regularly to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Michael demonstrated a great zest for life. He had a unique and wonderful sense of humor that touched his family and friends. He was a charitable and proud American, active in New Jersey politics.
He is survived by his four daughters, “his girls”, Mary Ann Rosenberg and her husband David of North Brunswick, Michele R. Lapczynski and her husband James of Metuchen, Patricia Vastano and her husband Joseph of Cherry Hill, Karen Buoncristiano of Annapolis, MD; his sister Florence Lucchesi and her husband Ronald of Rockaway; Proud “Nonno” to six grandchildren Christopher, Jake, Connor, Jessica, Michael Cristian and Joseph; three nephews Ronald, John and Brian.
Funeral Service will take place Wednesday 9:15am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave (RT27) Metuchen followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, New Brunswick. Interment is at Hillside Cemetery, Metuchen.
