Thomas “Pop Pop” Aulenbach, 81, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at home, with his family by his side.
Born in Newark, he resided in Edison for 52 years.
He served in the National Guard. Thomas was a truck driver for many years, working for P.I.E Trucking, North Brunswick, for many years and ABF Trucking, East Brunswick, before retiring. He was a teamster for 50 years.
He was a coach and volunteer for the Edison Angels. He loved old movies and westerns and working in the yard. Tom enjoyed traveling across the United States with his wife, visiting every state except Louisiana. He adored spending time with all his grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his mother, Antoinette Galante Aulenbach (D.2017), his father Ralph Aulenbach, his brother Ronald Aulenbach and his brother-in-law Edward Przybylek.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lenore Aulenbach; daughter Annette and Scott Dougliss, son Ron Aulenbach and Lori Cullen, daughter Kristine and Rich Lorentzen, sister Roseann Przybylek, brother Ralph and Loretta Aulenbach and sister Joyce Aulenbach, 9 grandchildren Greg, Christine, Kurt, Kristen, Jessica, Zachary, Emily, Lorelei and Grant, and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 and Friday 8:45-9:15am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave.(Rt.27) Metuchen followed by a service at 10:00am at The Grace Reformed Church, 2815 Woodbridge Ave., Edison.
