Bill graduated from The Ohio State University, class of 1951, with a degree in Agriculture. He remained an avid OSU football fan for the rest of his life. He met the love of his life, Ruth McNeil, when they both worked for the Heinz Company, and they were married on August 2nd, 1958. Bill was a member of Kermit Lodge #167 A.F. & A.M, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and Salaam Shriners Clown Unit. He enjoyed clowning at the Shriners Hospitals for Children and entertaining children with his clown gimmicks at Shrine circuses. The children knew him as Mr. Lectric.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen NJ. Bill was known for the tomatoes he grew each year and shared with friends, neighbors, and church members. His children and grandchildren and their accomplishments and care for others brought great joy to his life. He was able to see his grandson, Michael, receive his M.S. degree and his granddaughter Amelia receive her M.D. degree this past May.
