Born in Edison, she was raised in Linden, and resided in Colonia, before moving to Metuchen 2 years ago.
Alysia graduated from Mount St. Mary’s Academy in Watching. She received her Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Denver.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen.
Early in her career Alysia worked with the Juvenile Intervention & Diversion Denver Public Safety Youth Programs in the SafeNite Curfew Division, where her work included serving as counselor to students of the Columbine tragedy. She later worked with the Middlesex County halfway house program as a residential counselor for displaced teens. Eventually, her passion for helping troubled youth lead to her establishing Educational Intervention Institute, LLC in Union County, NJ.
After leaving her professional career, Alysia was an active lead-volunteer at the NJ State Trump Campaign Headquarters in 2016. She was also an advocate for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. As a resident of Metuchen, Alysia was actively involved with the Metuchen Senior Center, the St. Francis Cathedral School HSA, as well as initiating various social activities at Woodmont Metro.
Her love of beautiful flowers, plants, and tropical beach settings, led Alysia on adventures in Fiji, Grand Cayman, and Belize. When possible, Alysia always enjoyed organic gardening, at her home and community sites. Alysia was friendly, caring and positive by nature. Her sunny disposition, beautiful smile, and unending determination, are what made her special to all who knew her, and her kindness touched the lives of more people than even she realized. Her light and love will be forever in our hearts. Alysia, we love you.
