Andrew “Andy” Klinger, beloved husband and father, of Edison, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at home, surrounded by family and friends after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He was 50 years old.
Andy was born on October 25, 1969 to Dominik and Judith Klinger. He was a life-long resident of Edison and graduated from Edison High School in 1988. His exuberant personality and infectious laugh made it impossible for those around him to not be captivated by his immense love of life.
Among his many passions in life, he loved watching the Chicago Bears, working with his hands, and hanging out with his wife, Nikki, and his two best friends, Alex and Keith. Nothing brought him more joy than playing sports with his son, Christian, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and rough housing with his rottweiler, Jax.
Andy is predeceased by his mother, Judith and sister, Carol. He is survived by wife of 5 years, Nicole (nee Melchior); his son, Christian Wintringham; his father, Dominik Klinger; his brother, Robert Klinger; and his 5 nieces and nephews, Selena Sattler, Tyler Columbus, Kylie Columbus, Hunter Powers, and Olivia Powers.
Visitation is Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 4-8pm and Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 10-11am at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Funeral Home followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery of Metuchen.
