Augustine “Gus” P. Tambini, Jr., 58, of Jackson, died unexpectedly on January 8, 2019.
Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Metuchen for 30 years. He attended Metuchen HS & was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen. He moved to Jackson in 1990 with his wife. He worked for 30 years at Monmouth Medical Center as a Psychiatric Screener then switched jobs to work for CentraState Medical Center as a Mental Health Therapist for over 15 years. He was a NJ Certified Screener. He enjoyed football, baseball, nature, the beach, Bruce Springsteen, horseback riding, birds, & sitting on his serenity porch with his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Augustine and Grace; an uncle, Dino Jasper; an aunt, Vinnie Jasper & his Godfather Joe Jasper.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sharon; three siblings, Peter & his wife Cathy of Edison, Joanie Baskakow & her husband Tony of Fords, & Christine McCann & her husband Tom of Edison; nieces & nephews, Peter Jr & his wife Shannon, Anthony & his wife Rebecca, Michael & his wife Donna, Joseph & his wife Meghan, Lisa, Grace, Thomas; 5 great-nieces & great-nephews; uncle, Dr. Phil Jasper of Passaic; aunts, Claire Jasper of East Brunswick, & Maria Tambini of Brooklyn; a brother-in-law, Bill Duncan & wife Ann of South Bend Indiana, and nieces and nephews Jessica, Jonathon, Angela, & Brenda; his 3 horses, J.T., Buster and Jaxx & many cats.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2018 at 9:45 am from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen followed by a 10:15 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Cremation will be private.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5-9 pm.
