Beverly Knef (neeMatthews), 80, of Iselin, died on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Plainfield she had lived in Maplewood before moving to Iselin in 1961. She was a communicant of St. Cecelia’s RC Church in Iselin. We learned from Bev that family comes first, stick to your values, and treat others with respect. She enjoyed cooking, was an expert at stretching a dollar, rescued numerous cats and dogs, and made the best chocolate chip cookies. Most of all, she loved her family. She looked forward to family gatherings, and spent countless hours talking, texting and visiting with her grandchildren. Bev was selfless and always helped those in need. She spent her final years caring for her beloved husband.
She is predeceased by her husband, James (d.2018).
She is survived by her 4 children, Lisa Trosky & her husband Doug of Point Pleasant, James & his wife Maryann of Monmouth Junction, Steven & his fiancée Karyn O’Brien of Iselin, & Michael & his wife Valarie of Colonia; 8 grandchildren, Douglas Trosky & his wife Dominique, Christie Giambalvo & her husband Richard, Caitlin Strain & her husband Mark, Erica & her fiancé Brendan, Amanda, Michael, Tara, & Lauren; 4 great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Carter, Madison & Leah; sisters, Alice Schoemann & husband Frank of Princeton Junction, & Patricia Centofanti & husband Paul of Hillsborough; brother-in-law Andrew Knef and his wife Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
