On Friday, March 13, 2020, Carol Bernice Boykin, of South Plainfield, passed away at age 49.
Carol Bernice Boykin was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 7, 1970. As a young adult, she graduated from high school and then moved to Boston with limited proficiency in the English language. She attended English classes as a Second Language at Harvard University and quickly became a strong and determined young lady. As we all know, she had unstoppable energy.
Carol graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Chemistry which carried her through her successful career in the chemistry field.
Carol Bernice also had a passion for loving and helping others. She was the best friend, daughter, family member and spouse imaginable. She dedicated her life to pleasing others and bringing them joy. She became everyone’s Cherub. No wonder she collected them. She was a dog lover and enjoyed shopping, baking and planning parties for family and friends.
Carol Bernice is preceded in death by her father Harry Diaz. She is survived by her husband Kenny Boykin; mother Maricelis Marín and her Husband Edgardo; stepdaughter, Brittney Estiverne and her husband Christopher; brother Harry Omar Díaz; sister Edmarie Rosario; one granddaughter Danielle Amelia Estiverne; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends and her close friends, Jannel Franklin and Camille Retana.
A Memorial Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, from 4-8 pm, at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt27), Metuchen, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 10:15 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, 32 Elm Ave, Metuchen, NJ.
As per Carol's request, she would not like any flowers sent for the service.
