Dale Ivin Swieringa, 73, of Edison, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at RWJ University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Holland, Michigan, he resided in Edison for 45 years.
He served in the United States Air Force, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant as a Medical Service Specialist during the Vietnam War. He was a Disabled Veteran who was extremely proud of his service to our country.
He attended First Baptist Church of Metuchen.
Dale graduated High School in 1965 and for the next 21 years continued his college education in multiple colleges. Beginning this education, he attended New York University. He finished off by graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University of Rutherford, NJ and The School of Medical Technology at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in 1986. Using his skills, he worked in places like Revlon, Riverview Medical Center and ended in Sera- Tech Biologicals.
Dale is predeceased by his parents, Simon and Marian Alice Swieringa.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Diane Swieringa; four children, Sean, Jason, Tina and Alysia and husband, Stephen Burry. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brayden, Kaylee and Grayson “Dale”, as well as his siblings Charles, Rose and Paul.
The visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 4-7:30pm, with a funeral service at 7:30pm, at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt.27), Metuchen. A private family burial will take place on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:00am.
