Donald J. Ward, Sr., 89, of Edison, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Mary Anne Hale Pavilion Haven Hospice, Edison.
Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of Edison.
Donald proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal,the Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Star.
He was a carpenter most of his life, retiring many years ago.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Edison. He was a member of the American Legion Father and Son Post 435, Edison, the Edison Memorial VFW Post 3117, and the Bound Brook Moose Lodge 998.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Barbara Ward; his son, Donald J. Ward Jr.; his step sister Margaret and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:00 am at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt.27) Metuchen. Interment is in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
Visitation is Sunday 2-6 pm.
