Doris "Mickie" Scotland, 80, of Edison died on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at RWJ in New Brunswick.
Born in Brooklyn, NY she has resided in Edison for 52 years. She was a very active member and an Honorary Life Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen. She attended a Bible Study group and she also taught a Bible Class. She was also awarded the First Presbyterian Woman of USA Award in 2001. She belonged to the Metuchen Municipal Pool. She enjoyed dancing, cruises, traveling, and writing poetry. She and her husband loved to spend time in the Poconos having their "Happy Hour Toasts" and sharing stories.
She was predeceased by her husband, Minor "Scotty" in 2014; and her life-long friend, "Cookie" Mauceri in 2015.
She is survived by a son, Keith of Edison; a daughter, Denise of Harrisburg, PA; a sister, Lillian Miller and her husband Mike of New Brunswick; and her Godchild, Lisa Ryer of East Brunswick.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, 270 Woodbridge Ave. Metuchen. Arrangements are by the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home.
