Elizabeth Patinella, 98, of Edison died on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at JFK Hartwyck at Edison Estates. Born in New York City, she was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, New York until moving to Edison recently. Elizabeth (Betty) was the daughter of Rocco and Marie (nee DiBenedetto) Guarnieri. Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Martin and Nicholas, her sisters Theresa and Fanny, her son Salvatore and her loving husband of 56 years, Joseph. Betty is s survived by her daughters Lucille Falzone and her husband James, Marie Rush and her husband Kevin, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Betty loved nothing more than Sunday afternoons with family, enjoying a dinner of pasta, meatballs and of course her homemade sauce. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, telling them stories of the old days and listening to how they were doing in school or in life. And nothing completed the dinner better than a game of Kalooki.
Betty was excited to learn of the birth of her great great grandchild in December and the news of another great-grandchild on the way.
Betty will be interred privately at Calvary Cemetery in Queens. There will be a Memorial Mass at a future date.
