Harold David West, 69, of Menlo Park Terrace died on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center.
Harold was born in Fort Monmouth to the late Harold and Irene Holbrook West. He grew up in Woodbridge, and moved to Menlo Park Terrace, where he has lived for the past 22 years. Harold work for the Newark branch of the US Postal Service for 45 years. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, where he served as a Deacon and volunteered with the youth mission trip building houses for Habitat for Humanity. He also enjoyed camping with his family.
Harold is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan Wardlow West; his son Harold David West Jr. and his wife Marina Barahona West; his daughter Cathleen Peitz and her husband Joshua; his sisters Elizabeth West and Jane Connors, along with Jane’s husband Kenneth; 3 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Liliana and Elise; In-laws; Diane Giordano and her husband Tom of Woodbridge; Robert Wardlow and his wife George-Anne of Hopelawn; Betty Jane Oliva and her husband Ronald of Hamilton and Donald Wardlow of East Windsor; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 20th at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen. Committal prayers will immediately follow at Rosehill Crematory Chapel in Linden.
