Helen C. (Toohey) Guerth, 82, of Metuchen died on Monday, July 30, 2018 at her home. She has now rejoined her loving husband, Alfred.
Helen was born in Hoboken to the late James Toohey and Anna Collins. She was a resident of Metuchen for the past 57 years. Helen was employed by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office for 11 years retiring in 2008. She had also worked ARJ Box Company in Hoboken. She was a member of the Metuchen Womens Democratic Party. In her free time she enjoyed being “Nana” to her grandchildren.
Helen is predeceased by her husband Alfred “Buddy”; two sisters, Anna Tomoney and Therese Werkman.
She is survived by children, Catherine Baldowski (Joseph), Anna Cotton (Daniel), Morgan; grandchildren, James Cotton, Chloe Baldowski, Ryleigh Baldowski, sisters, Catherine Gomez, Carol Palladino and Bernadette Zinna, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Thursday, August 2nd from 6-9 pm in the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30pm on Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. There will be nothing at the funeral home Friday. To send condolences visit www.costello-runyon.com.
