James T. Sullivan, 71, of Edison, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center.
Born in St. Louis, MO, James has lived in Linwood NJ and NYC before moving to Edison over 40 years ago with his wife, Eileen. James was a parishioner at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and worked as an IRS Agent in NYC where he was a 9/11 survivor. James was a member of the APE, The Apple Peeler Enthusiasts and has collected hundreds of Apple Peelers and antiques. He was always on the go, loved going to the beach, and was a real handyman around the house. Above all, James loved his family, and especially adored spending time with his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Eileen (Pupo); his 2 sons, Christopher and his wife Amanda of Tennessee & Daniel and his wife Erin of Edison; his daughter, Laura Salton and her husband Justin of Watchung; 8 grandchildren, Brendan, Breanna, Chace, Aidan, Mia, Austin, Cami, and Alexia; 3 brothers, Michael and his wife Patricia of Michigan, Richard of California, and Larry and his wife Mary of Rochester, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will take place on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 9:45am from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen, followed by a 10:15am Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Visitation is Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1-5pm.
