Kenneth Kugelman, Jr., 67, of South Plainfield, died at home February 16, 2019.
He was born in Plainfield and lived most of his life in South Plainfield. He worked for the
International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 in Springfield as a heavy equipment operator for nearly 40 years. He previously worked for Giulio’s in Warren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Plainfield. He loved to play guitar, read about history, & the NY Giants.
He is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Sr. & Thelma; & brother in law, Robert DeAngelis.
He is survived by his four children, Kenneth J. Kugelman of Bordentown, Jack Kugelman of Bethlehem, PA, Ashley Kugelman of Raritan, & Kevin Kugelman of Bethlehem, PA; longtime companion, Patricia Hagerthey of Iselin; 4 grandchildren, Austin Sieberg, Tyler Kugelman, Natalie Kugelman, & Ryland Kugelman; a sister, Dianne DeAngelis; a step-daughter, Samantha Hagerthey; step-granddaughter, Summer Forson; a niece & two nephews; & best friend of 50 years, Basil Luongo.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11 am at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 1225 Green St., Iselin, followed by cremation at Rosehill Crematory in Linden.
Visitation will take place on Thursday from 4-8 pm.
