Kevin C. Hamilton of Metuchen, NJ passed away suddenly on September 28, 2018 at age 24.
A lifelong Metuchen resident, Kevin attended Saint Francis Cathedral School, Edgar Middle School, and graduated from Union Catholic High School in 2012. He went on to attend Manhattan College in The Bronx, NY and received a B.S. in Accounting and Finance in 2016 and went on to pursue his MBA at that same school.
Kevin played baseball in the Metuchen Little League, CYO Basketball, flag football, and rec and travel Soccer. He played soccer at Union Catholic High School, and was on rowed crew at Manhattan College. He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 16 and Troop 216 in Metuchen, where he earned the Eagle Scout Award in 2012. He was a faithful Altar Server at Saint Francis Cathedral, where he also sang in the Youth and Junior Choirs.
Kevin loved music, and was an avid guitarist and songwriter, playing at venues locally, at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, and in New York City, both alone and with his friends who’d formed a band. He was an avid sports fan of the New York Yankees, Rangers, and Giants. Kevin loved to read history, the news, watch classic movies, and enjoyed fishing. He spent his childhood not in front of any video games, but spent endless hours shooting a basketball, playing catch, and practicing soccer. He could always be found outside or on a nearby athletic field.
Kevin’s outgoing personality, intelligence, quick wit and sense of humor, and hearty laugh brought smiles and laughter to all who knew him. His family could never have been prouder of any son.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Kathleen Grogan, his paternal grandfather, Raymond Hamilton, his uncle and godfather Michael Grogan, and his uncle Christopher Grogan.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Nancy Hamilton, his two sisters, Katie and Annie, his grandmother Eugenie Hamilton of The Bronx, his aunts and uncles Robert and Kathleen Cardone of Freehold, NJ, Christopher and Veronica Hamilton of Randolph, New Jersey, John and Kathy Grogan of Valemount, British Columbia, Grace Tenaglia of Port St. Lucie, Florida, his godmother Maureen O’Neil of Sea Crest Beach, NJ, and cousins Jessica, Peter, Stephanie, Nina, Patrick, Lisa, Michael, Dan, Theresa, and Christine, and his loving niece Emily.
We will always love and will miss our wonderful Kevin, and pray that one day we will all be reunited in heaven. He made our lives a joy every day of his short life.
It won’t be heaven without Kevin. (He’d like that ‘lil rhyme).
