Loretta M. Barton, 93, of Edison, died on Monday, May 13, 2019 at RWJ in New Brunswick.
Born in Staten Island, she resided in Tannersville, PA until moving to Edison in 2018. She loved being outside doing any and all types of yardwork. She enjoyed long walks and bicycle rides. She also liked to cook for her family. She loved shopping and looking for the best sales. She loved her cats, including all the cats in the neighborhood who could always count on her for food! She was known as “Grammy” to all the grandchildren. Grammy was a kind, loving, and giving person. She always had something for everyone, never letting you leave empty handed. She treasured pictures of the important people in her life and taped them to her wall. Those pictures were always a focal point in her house. As one EMT said, it looks as though her whole life is on those walls. She always said to live by The Ten Commandments and to do what is right in God’s sight. She signed off with Agape love, which was so appropriate for her, as she loved everyone.
She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Roger Barton (d.2004); parents, Louis & Mary Yourth; former husband, Karl Kerber (d.1995); & 5 siblings, Louis, Robert, Howard, Marie, & Dorothy.
