Beloved Wife, Beloved Mother, Cherished Nana

Lucille was born in Newark, NJ. She was predeceased by her loving parents Leslie B. and Stella R. Joudrey. She was the beloved wife of Frank Janusz for 52 years, beloved mother to Noelle Cowan of Hilliard, OH (Edmund H, Jr.) and Shelly Bordon of Boalsburg, PA (Marc Edward), and cherished Nana to Corinne and Blair Cowan, and James and Rachel Bordon. She is also survived by her dear sister Marilyn Gardner of Sparta, NJ, dear brother James Joudrey of Toms River, NJ, nieces, nephews and many best friends. She was a proud graduate of Arts High School in Newark, NJ - Class of 1962. She was involved in many AHS clubs - President of The Junior American Red Cross Club, Girls’ Glee Club, student council, typing club, opera chorus and inducted into the National Honor Society. She was very active in every AHS class reunion; she enjoyed finding missing classmates. She volunteered Monday through Saturday for four summers as a candy striper. She earned a pin for 1,000 volunteer hours being the first teenager to achieve that. Lucille was awarded a scholarship - half from NY Journal American Newspaper and half from The Women's Auxiliary to the Essex County Medical Society - to attend The Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. After nursing school, she worked at Royal Globe Insurance Company and Travelers Insurance as insurance raters. Lucille moved to Edison, NJ in January 1972 where she was a stay-at-home mom for thirteen years. She joined the Washington Elementary School PTA (PTO) as 2nd vice president and she was the fundraising chairman and safety chairman. Lucille worked at Edison Stationers in Edison, NJ then was a Teller Supervisor for City Federal Savings Bank in East Brunswick, NJ. She was also the Edison High School PTSO president from 1986 to 1988. She proudly prepared poster boards for monthly display on bulletin boards at EHS since 1985. She was an inspector for District #2 voting polls from 1980 to 1988. Lucille was a communicant of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Her favorite singer was Johnny Mathis since 1957. Her favorite concerts were the 75th Anniversary Concert of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at the NJ PAC and Elisabeth Von Trapp at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Lucille also enjoyed attending Broadway Shows and shows at the NJ PAC and Paper Mill Playhouse. Her favorite outings included the NJ Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport at end of July and craft shows especially the one every August in Lititz, PA. Lucille’s hobbies were scrapbooking and putting photographs in albums. Her favorite shows were Law & Order - Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloods, Shark Tank and The Profit. She was a supporter of Thirteen.
