Ruth A. Emmons, 79, of Edison, died on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her home.
Born in Bayonne, she had also lived in Brielle before moving to Edison in 1970. Prior to her career as a DMV Supervisor for over 20 years, she had worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a parishioner of St. Helena’s RC Church in Edison. She loved to go to the beach, garden & play mahjong, but most of all spend time with her children & grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, John (d.2005); parents, Casimir & Anne Salkowski; & a brother, Robert Salkowski.
She is survived by her 5 children, Mark & wife Michele of Jackson, Chris Martini & husband Christopher of Warren, Kurry & wife Rachelle of Branchburg, Keith & wife Lesley of Cypress TX, & Lance & wife Caryn of Maplewood; 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Stephen, Zachary, Chad, Matthew, Nicholas, Johnathan, Isabel, Gabrielle, Claire, & Will; a brother, Richard Salkowski & wife Marianne of MD; a sister-in-law, Mary Salkowski of FL & NJ; and cherished caregiver Mira.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 10 am at St. Helena’s RC Church in Edison. Interment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery in Manasquan.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave (Rt.27), Metuchen.
