Salvatore Aloe, 73, of Edison passed away at home surrounded by his family on January 28, 2019.
Born in Amantea, Italy he moved to the United States in 1966 first residing in Newark and then moving to Edison in 1981. He was a carpenter and worked for Colombia Art in Avenel from 1972-1995. He then was a partner in his own business Work of Art in Roselle Park from 1996-2008. He had hands of gold as a carpenter making beautiful masterpieces with wood including many of the family’s kitchens. He was very involved with his family and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
He is predeceased by his parents, Annunziato Aloe & Elisa Guido & three siblings, Francesco (Ciccio) Aloe, Maria Aloe, & Ida Aloe.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Eleonora (nee Pontoriero) Aloe: 3 children, Elisa Bosslett & husband Michael of Edison, Antonio Aloe & wife Mary of Bridgewater, & Francesco Aloe of Colonia; 7 grandchildren, Marie, James, Francesca, Danielle, Eleonora, Alessandra, & Vivianna; 4 siblings: Rachele Aloe, Antonio Aloe, Carmela Aloe, & Rocco Aloe; & many Sisters & Brothers in law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-9 pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 9:15 am at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen, followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecelia’s RC Church, Iselin. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
