Theresa E. (Alicino) Jones, 96, of Metuchen died on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Mary Anne Hale Pavilion of Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in the Bronx, NY, she resided in Metuchen for 50 years.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen, the first graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School in the Bronx, where she had been captain of the Girls Basketball team. She also attended Grace Institute of New York City.
She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert J. Jones whodied in 1958, a daughter Marion Broxmeyer who died in 1994.
Surviving are her sons Lawrence F. and his wife Nancy of Keyport, Christopher J. and his wife Sheila of Boynton Beach, FL, daughters Frances Carey of Metuchen, Marie Brown and her husband Harry of Edison, Kathleen Skinner and her husband Pierce of Sparta, Maureen Rosa and her husband Richard of Kennebunk, Maine and Carol Jones Brown and her husband Rob of Plainfield, a brother Nicholas Alicino and his wife Mary Regina of Red Bank, a son-in-law Joseph Broxmeyer, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Services will take place on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 9:45 AM from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen; followed by a 10:15 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, interment is at Hillside Cemetery in Metuchen. Visitation is Sunday 2-4 only.
